Priesthood of All Believers?

This has been a difficult post for me to write.  I feel caught between what I read in scripture. What I have been told is normative and what I have personally experienced.

A few years ago I read Alan Hirsch’s book The Forgotten Ways. It blew my mind for about six months and I was reeling from the implications he outlined in one simple phrase- “the priesthood of all believers.”

  1. Hi, you don’t know me, but I have been reading your blog for a while now. I have to tell you that this particular post completely spoke to my heart. I have been struggling with this same concept. This gave me the space and freedom to walk into my own priesthood. I can’t thank you enough for being willing to wrestle with this and share the journey. It has made a world of difference for me.

    • Hi Kate- thanks for de-lurking 🙂 So glad this post could encourage you. I think that feeling legit as a woman and minister can be really difficult at times. It’s something in which I continue to learn to work, pray and seek to be obedient to Jesus.
